2-1-1 Tampa Bay Cares, Inc. Receives AIRS National Accreditation


2-1-1 Tampa Bay Cares, Inc. has been accredited by the Alliance of Information & Referral Systems (AIRS) for meeting the highest national standards and delivering quality information and referral services to the community. The accreditation is effective through December 2014.

“We are very proud of this recognition by the Alliance of Information & Referral Systems (AIRS)," said Micki Thompson, Executive Director, 2-1-1 Tampa Bay Cares, Inc.. "Preparation for the accreditation process was long and hard - taking almost one year to complete. To be accredited by AIRS is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff, our volunteers, and our Board of Directors."


AIRS is an international, independent, not-for-profit organization which provides support for the professional development and delivery of information and referral service organizations. The accreditation process includes a review of the organizational standards including information and referral call center service provisions, health and human resource data collection and management, cooperative and collaborative relationships, governance, personnel administration, financial and risk management, service quality improvement, and 46 service standards addressing the connection of people in need to available health, human, and emergency services.
