Current Weather and Road Closures Status

Hernando County experienced moderate rainfall this evening.  Residents are reminded that forecasters are calling for additional rainfall through Saturday night.  Continue to monitor your local news weather reports for the latest updates.

Hernando County Emergency Management Director Cecilia Patella reports that no one is seeking shelter at this time. Therefore, the American Red Cross Shelter is closing at 9 PM tonight.  The shelter location is the First United Methodist Church located at 109 S Broad Street in Brooksville. An emergency contact number will be posted at the shelter in the event that a resident is in need.

Macy’s is partnering with 2-1-1 Tampa Bay Cares to invite customers to participate in Macy’s eighth annual “Shop for a Cause” charity shopping event on Saturday, August 24, 2013.  Tickets are available for $5 each. We keep 100% of every ticket we sell, and the more tickets sold by 2-1-1 Tampa Bay Cares, the more money we will raise!  

By purchasing a shopping pass to the event customers support our organization, while enjoying a day of spectacular discounts, entertainment, and special events. Pass holders will enjoy special discounts on most regular, sale and clearance purchases all day.

WHERE:  Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 455 Missouri Avenue, Largo, FL (outside event)

Free school physicals, dental check-ups, school supplies and information from 30 community agencies.
